Subject: CyberTax TY2020-01: Google User Accounts Activated; Update Addresses in Portal
Tax-Aide Google User Accounts Ready for Use
All Tax-Aide volunteer Google accounts have been activated. Please follow the directions in the “Chromebook Startup Instructions” document, found in the blue “Technology” folder under “01_Chromebooks”in the Volunteer Portal Libraries.
Returning volunteers will have the same ID they used previously, and the login procedure will be similar to the “first-time login” instructions that were sent out last year. And, you will be able to reload documents and bookmarks, and customize settings now that your accounts have been restored.
Last month Tax-Aide’s National Office initiated removal of data from all Chromebooks as part of its now standard process; this takes the place of what used to be referred to as ‘re-imaging’ conducted at the local level.
Correct Addresses Needed on the Portal
Given the nature of the pandemic, Tax-Aide will be shipping selected training materials to returning volunteers. So, please make sure that your mailing address in your Volunteer Portal contact record is correct. Information on updating your address is discussed in the Volunteer Portal Library -“Volunteer Portal -New > 02 Introduction to the Portal > VP02 Contact Record”.
