Subject: Tax-Aide Update – Aug 2021: Tax-Aide Underserved Community Tax Site Application Now Available
We are happy to let you know that the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Underserved Community Tax Site Application is now available (view online application here https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TaxAideComSite). This initiative encourages volunteers to further expand Tax-Aide’s reach into communities where there is a need and is meant to help fill gaps in nationwide service for key communities and populations – focusing on the Low-Income 50+ (LI50+) – key demographics include ethnicity and race, rural and urban locations, inter-generational sites (e.g., colleges, universities), veteran populations, and others.
We encourage all volunteers interested in starting a new tax site or expanding an existing tax site in an underserved and/or diverse community to apply by or before October 25, 2021. However, we may make exceptions for later submissions if resources are available. To complete the application, you will need demographic information about the community where the site will be located, have an idea of who will serve at the site, and understand the type of resources you will need to be successful. Also, please consult with your state volunteer leadership about your plans to apply.
We appreciate your efforts to make this important and free service more widely available, and we want to help support you in this endeavor. Our investment includes up to three laptops, a printer, a hot spot (if needed), and up to $500 reimbursable expenses for marketing and promotion. View the application for more details.
Thank you for your consideration to continue to make the Tax-Aide service available in communities and neighborhoods nationwide.
As part of the Tax-Aide program, information including the latest updates and program guidance is regularly sent via email to all volunteers. Please click here if you are not a volunteer in the Tax-Aide program and therefore should be deleted from receiving further emails. If you are a Tax-Aide volunteer with a question, please first contact your volunteer supervisor or members of your volunteer leadership team. Replying to this email puts your response directly into Tax-Aide’s National Office ticketing system.
